Hon. Dr. Adesola Samuel Adedayo’s political journey has been deeply rooted in his passion for community service. His leadership potential emerged early during his service year in Sokoto State, where he played an active role in advocating for youth corps members’ welfare. Later, during his postgraduate medical training, he served as the General Secretary of the Resident Doctors Association in Kwara State. His dedication to public service was further demonstrated when he chaired the Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) from 2008 to 2014.

Now, as a first-time lawmaker representing Apapa Federal Constituency, Lagos State, Dr. Adesola is championing a bill to establish a Federal Medical Center in Ajasse-Ipo, Kwara State. His vision is to bridge the gap in healthcare accessibility, particularly for Kwara South, a historically significant region that serves as a major intersection connecting Kwara to Kogi and Osun states.

Currently, most major healthcare and educational institutions in Kwara are concentrated in and around Ilorin, leaving the nearly 900,000 residents of Kwara South with limited access to essential medical services. “Most institutions are around Ilorin, which is not good for the overall development of the state,” Dr. Adesola stated, emphasizing the need for equitable distribution of healthcare facilities.

The proposed Federal Medical Center will provide advanced medical care, address the shortage of skilled healthcare professionals in the region, and enhance the overall well-being of residents. Beyond healthcare, the center will create job opportunities, stimulate local economic growth, improve the standard of living in Kwara South, and attract foreign investments.

In a message to his constituents and Nigerians at large, Dr. Adesola stressed the importance of patience and collective effort in overcoming the country’s challenges. He urged citizens to support the president and the nation through prayers, reminding them that “it is difficult to build but very easy to destroy.”

With his medical expertise and political commitment, Dr. Adesola Samuel Adedayo is positioning himself as a driving force for sustainable healthcare development in Kwara State.
