THE ASSOCIATION OF WIVES OF FCT TRADITIONAL RULERS APPLAUDS THE FCT MINISTER FOR APPOINTING AN INDIGENE AS MANDATE SECRETARY
Members of The Association of Wives OF FCT Traditional Rulers today congratulate The FCT Minister, Mr. Ezenwo Nyesom WIke, on the appointment of an original inhabitant of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Bitrus Lawrence Garki – Atafache as Mandate Secretary, FCT Area Council Service Secretariat.
We shall not take this historic event for FCT original residents for granted. The fact that an Indigenous person has been awarded this crucial position of leadership is a sign of progress. Mr. Bitrus Lawrence Garki – Atafache will be a strong advocate for our people and the conservation of our land and resources, we are convinced.
Mr. Garki’s appointment is considered as a positive step for FCT indigenes since it provides us a stronger voice in territorial management. Indeed, it demonstrates the government’s commitment to fostering a more inclusive society. It is also an indication that Indigenous people are becoming more involved in the political process.
The Association of Wives OF FCT Traditional Rulers congratulated Mr. Garki on his appointment and expressed confidence that he will use his youthfully energy and expertise to improve the lives of the indigenes.
The association also called on the FCT Minister to ensure that more indigenes are appointed to key positions in the FCT Administration.
Congratulation.
