The bill for an act to establish the Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences in Abeokuta has passed second reading in the senate yesterday. The bill was sponsored by Senator Olanrewaju A. Tejuosho from Ogun Central. According to the sponsor of the bill, it will aid higher medical studies, science and innovations in all capacity, as doctors, patients fall short of ratio 1:2 in Nigeria. The bill was supported by Senator Mathew A. Urhoghide from Edo south and the deputy senate president who presided over the debate, after a unanimous shout of yea, referred the bill to committee on health to work on it and report back in four weeks.Adeboye Omoboye
