Senate passes bill to convert Kadpoly to city university

The Senate has passed for third reading a bill seeking the conversation of Kaduna Polytechnic to City University of Technology, Kaduna.

This followed the consideration and adoption of the report of the committee on Tertiary Education and TetFund chaired by Sen Jibrin Barau (APC, Kano).The bill, sponsored by Sen Shehu Sani (PRP, Kaduna).

After the adoption of the report, the senators agreed to pass it for third reading immediately at yesterday’s plenary.

The Senate is expected to immediately send the bill to the House of Representatives for concurrence so that it could be transmitted to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent before the expiration of the current 8th National Assembly on June 9.
