The OTUKPO-AJAOKUTA railway is the earliest and and it is the cheapest, fastest means of conveying people and goods from one point to the other . The railway project which runs from Otukpo in Benue State down to Ajaokuta have been abandoned even after the construction of the railway bridge from Itobe- Ajaokuta. The dominant of these place are mostly farmers ,their farm produce would have been more easily moved to the cities to earn more revenue and also boost the economy activities. The house has called on the Federal Government through the Minister of transport to include the completion of the the OTUKPO- AJAOKUTA railway project in the 2018 budget estimates. The house also setup a committee on land transport and aspirations to ensure implementation.
