REP ALHASSAN RESPONDS TO COMMENTS BY FORMER PRESIDENT OLUSEGUN OBASANJO

The chief whip of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa addressed journalist at a press conference on Wednesday in National Assembly. In his speech he said that he is sadly under personal obligation to respond to the unfortunate comments by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on the issue of President Muhammadu Buhari possible ambition and democratic right to seek re-election come 2019. He said that the former President who was used to engaging in very unreasonable political comments should know that he cannot in any way be a stumbling block against the popular desire of Nigerian’s to give president Buhari a second term to rule this great Nation. This was unfortunately put to a state of economic and political Quagmire’s the likes of Obasanjo and his cohorts. He expressed that it is pertinent to note that the former president lacks the moral and political credibility to speak in the way he is doing on the political affairs of our country. He said Obasanjo is a man who was involved in all sort of corruption issues in his Administration and indeed his unpopular bid to violate our respected Constitution by wanting to take a third term. Obasanjo is not in anyway a credible democratic voice to count on. He urge Nigerians to disregard the destructive comment of the former President as baseless. He further commend President Muhammadu Buhari for the very good work he is doing for the country especially in the area of corruption, security and economic restructuring for a greater Nigeria.
