A former Speaker, Ekiti House of Assembly and member-elect, House of Representatives in Ekiti, South federal Constituency II, Hon. Femi Bamisile has opined that, APC members-elect in the coming 9th National Assembly will not go to the National Assembly for experimental or conjectural sake but rather to work hard for the development of the nation.

“With the calibre and cream of the APC Lawmakers-elect into the National Assembly, there is a great hope for all Nigerians, especially at getting better legislation that will transform the country for Peoples’ advantage”.

Bamisile stated this in a release made available to newsmen shortly after the Caucus meeting of the APC, Reps-elect presided over by the National Chairman of the Party in Abuja.

There is no doubt that, both returning and new Lawmakers-elect on the platform of APC will work assidisously on motions and bills that will have direct impact on the lives of the electorate in order to alleviate the sufferings of all Nigerians and give them a new leaf of life.

Party supremacy and ideology coupled with the interest of the electorate will be strictly adhered to, and the harmonious working relationship between the executive and legislative arms to promote good governance in the country will neither be jettisioned nor compromised.

Electorate are expecting much from the Politicians in returns after casting their votes for those who they trust and it is the responsibility of such politicians to live above board at delivering the dividends of Democracy to the People in earliest.

Various policies and programmes of the present federal government under President Muhammadu Buhari, if well executed and backed with good legislation, Nigerians irrespective of political, religious or cultural background will be set free from the shackles of poverty and lacks.

It is to say the least that, suspicious and love lost between the executive and outgoing legislative arms was responsible for slow pace or non-execution of some of the policies and programmes of the APC led federal government in the last three and half years in the Country. Therefore, there must be a clear departure from the scenario for the progress and development in the land.

Efforts at developing the nation must be a joint and collaborative one especially between the executive and legislative arms for the smooth runnings of the government activities. But at thesame time Legislature must not shy away from its oversight functions.

The oversight function of the Lawmakers is a very important aspect at building a growing Democracy like ours but it must not be misconcieved as a confrontational against the executive arm especially at the expense of the masses.

Nigerian masses deserve the best now than before in terms of good governance, hence the need for more harmonious and conducive working relationship between all arms of government at ensuring a better service delivery to them without further delay.

We cannot afford to continue to hypothesizing “the-executive-legislative- arms-relationship” all the times at the expense of Nigerians who voted us into power. The time has come now for a better understanding to facillitate development projects across the country in the best interest of the People.

Hon. Bamisile saluted the courage and determination of the People at standing by the APC government since 2015 and assured them that, the party will continue to work hard at giving the People the best.

He however called on all Nigerians to be more resolute and unwavering in their resolve to have a Country where corruption, other ills and their Elements affecting both economy and development of the nation will be completely nip in the bud.
