NATIONAL ASSEMBLY SERVICE COMMISSION APPOINTS ANDREW NWOBA AS CLERK OF THE SENATE

Elevates Key Officials in the National Assembly Bureaucracy

The National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) has announced the appointment of Mr. Andrew Ogbonnaya Nwoba as the Clerk of the Senate. The decision, which was approved at the Commission’s meeting held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, takes effect from December 11, 2024.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Nwoba served as the Secretary of the Directorate of Legislative Budget and Planning, a role in which he demonstrated exceptional competence and dedication.

In addition to Mr. Nwoba’s appointment, the NASC has elevated several other key officials within the National Assembly bureaucracy:

Mr. Emmanuel Odo has been appointed Deputy Clerk (Administration), Senate.

Mrs. Vivien N. Njemanze is now the Deputy Clerk (Administration), House of Representatives.

Dr. Obasi D. Ukoha assumes the position of Secretary of the Directorate of Legislative Budget and Planning.

The Commission also approved strategic deployments within the organization:

Mr. Rawlings Agada moves from Deputy Clerk (Administration), Senate, to Deputy Clerk (Legislative), Senate.

Mrs. Florence Kehinde A. transitions from Deputy Clerk (Administration), House of Representatives, to Deputy Clerk (Legislative), House of Representatives.

Earlier, the Commission had approved the appointments of:

Ogundayo Mofoluwake Olufunmilayo as Secretary of the Directorate of Special Duties.

Alkali Umar Abubakar as Secretary of the Directorate of Human Resource & Staff Development.

Essien Eyo Essien as Secretary of the Directorate of Zonal Liaison Offices.

These appointments and deployments reflect the Commission’s commitment to strengthening the administrative and legislative functions of the National Assembly.
