NATIONAL ASSEMBLY LAWMAKERS, DONATES 10 MILLION NAIRA TO RAISING THE STANDARD OF HEALTHCARE IN OYO STATE
Several dignitaries from all walks of life graced the first of its kind Healthcare Endowment Fund flagged-off today by the Jinx breaker, Gov. Abiola Ajimobi at the International Conference Centre of the University of Ibadan.
Ajimobi implored well-meaning Nigerians to donate generously to the project.
The National Assembly members in attendance, Hon. (Dr) Olatoye Temitope Sugar, Sen. Fatai Buhari and Sen. Adesoji Akanbi jointly donated the sum of
# *10Million* naira on behalf of all national assembly members from Oyo State.
Consequently, Hon. Dr. Temitope Olatoye representing Lagelu/Akinyele federal constituency at the House of Representatives lauded Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State for taken bold step to revamp moribund healthcare services in the state's general hospitals and primary healthcare centres across the 33 local government areas through Healthcare Endowment Fund.
Olatoye popularly called Hon. Sugar noted that health insurance scheme is one of the major ways to provide efficient and effective healthcare services which is being used in developed countries of the world.
Hon Sugar expressed confidence that the health insurance scheme would restore and transform government hospitals and health centres in the state.
He noted that the task of providing healthcare delivery is the responsibility of all citizens adding that contributions of private investors in health sector is commendable called on residents to join the government in its effort to resuscitate health care delivery in the state.
The federal lawmaker also commended Governor Ajimobi for assuring people that funds realized from the N50bn endowment will be judiciously utilized and well accounted for.
In attendance at the occasion are great politicians at all levels of government, senior public service officials, seasoned administrators, traditional rulers, captains of industries, international medical consultants and so on.
