NASSNEWS UPDATE!
The Senate convened for closed session after senator Tony Nwoye raised a motion concerning certain governors’ attempts to enact a bill permitting the deduction of funds designated for Local Governments.
After closed session the senate adopted the following prayers to the motion:
1. All states and local governments to fully comply with the recent Supreme Court judgment on disbursement and utilization of funds allocated to all local governments in Nigeria.
2. That the senate ensures alterations to relevant provisions of the constitution to provide for the full autonomy for the local governments in Nigeria.
