Lawan defies Oshiomhole, appoints 20 PDP Senators as Chairmen of Standing Committees
The Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan, has defied the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, in the appointment of Peoples Democratic Party Senators as Chairmen of Standing Committees. Oshiomhole had said that lawmakers of the opposition PDP will not be appointed as chairmen of committees in the ninth Senate. However, the list released showed that 20 Committees chairmanship were allocated to PDP Senators. Those among the PDP Senators appointed as Chairmen were Dino Melaye, Gorge Sekibo, Bassey Akpan, James Manager, Peter Nwabochi, Clifford Ordia and Ike Ekweremadu
