Kaduna Group Slams Senator Lawal Adamu, Calls Him “Worst Lawmaker in State’s History”
The Kaduna Good Governance Monitoring Group (KGGMG) has strongly criticized Senator Lawal Adamu, representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, describing him as the “worst lawmaker ever elected in Kaduna history.”
The group expressed anger over the senator’s alleged failure to perform his legislative duties and his continued silence on pressing issues such as insecurity and economic hardship affecting the state.
“We are perturbed that for almost two years in the Senate, Senator Lawal Adamu, fondly called ‘Mr. LA,’ has failed to adequately represent the interests of his constituents, advocate for policies, or assist individuals in navigating federal agencies and programs,” the group stated.
In a statement signed by its coordinator, Bagudu Ibn Mohammed, KGGMG noted that several other groups had previously voiced similar concerns about the senator’s performance.
The group recalled that in 2024, the Kaduna Elders Forum expressed disappointment in the senator’s performance and even demanded his recall. According to the Elders Forum, no senator in Kaduna’s history has underperformed as much as the incumbent.
Additionally, the Kaduna Peace and Tranquility Forum (KPTF) had also threatened to mobilize for his recall over allegations of non-performance.
“Mr. Lawal Adamu, in our view, is the worst senator ever elected by the people since Nigeria’s return to democracy in 1999,” the statement read.
“It is unfortunate that, 28 months after his inauguration as a lawmaker, the promises he made remain unfulfilled.
“The big question is: how do you expect the people to re-elect a senator who does not stand up to speak in the Senate, does not frequently visit his seven local government areas, and has not brought any tangible benefits to the state through his legislative work?” the group queried.
The statement underscores growing dissatisfaction among Kaduna Central constituents, with calls for greater accountability from their elected representatives.
