EFCC arrests lawmaker over alleged N4m scam
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ilorin Zonal Office has arraigned an immediate past Member of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammed Adebayo on six-count charges bordering on land fraud.
The accused person who was arraigned before Justice Sikiru Oyinloye, pleaded not guilty when the six-count charges were read to him in Court.
The former lawmaker, representing Malete/Moro Constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly was accused of defrauding some teachers to the tune of about four million naira.
Lead Counsel to the accused, M.D Yusuf, however, did not object to the application.
Meanwhile, Justice Oyinloye granted Adebayo bail of one million Naira with two surety in the like sum.
The case has been adjourned till Twenty Fourth of September 2019 for the commencement of trial.
