The former minister of mine and steel, former Governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi of the APC was certified winner of the ekiti state election haven scored the highest votes to be returned as the Governor of Ekiti state. He beat the incumbent Governor Ayo Fayose of PDP with 19,338 votes within the 16 local government area of Ekiti State where the election was conducted.

Accredited Voters: 405,861
APC scored 197,459 while PDP scored 178, 121.
