APC ABIA STATE CONDEMNS THE VICTIMIZATION OF OUR MEMBERS AT THE STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY …..
It has come to our notice of plans to suspend the former speaker of the Abia state house of assembly and member representing Isiala Ngwa north state constituency in the person of Rt. Hon. Martins Azubuike and others who officially declared to our party, the All Progressive Congress on the 9th of January 2018.
While we condemn the double standards of the ruling PDP in Abia state, over the treatment of the opposition politicians, it will be a step taken too far if the PDP leadership in the state house of assembly will go ahead with such an ill motivated plans to suspend the former speaker and other members of the house for moving over to the APC when other house members from other political parties had left their political parties to join the PDP in recent times.
Abians are yet to see the house leadership move for the suspension of Honourable Kelechi Onuzuruike from, Umuahia north state constituency, Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu of ohafia north state constituency, and Honourable Emmanuel Clinton Ebere, of aba south state constituency who all abandoned the political parties that brought them to the house of assembly to join the PDP, even when there are no problems or divisions in those political parties, why have they not been suspended or are we now in a practice of selective judgment for selective individuals and political parties in one state house of assembly?
The APC in Abia state has come to the realization that the PDP leadership in Abia state is in a mission to witch-hunt our members and as a responsible political family we will not fold our arms and watch the PDP subject our members to undeserved punishment due to the fact that they chose to belong to the APC.
If the house of assembly wants to serve justice by their own standard, it should not be selective but must be served to all, the suspension of political party defectors should start with those who defected from other political parties to join the PDP and anything short of it will amount to selective sanctioning and injustice.
We therefore call on the leadership of the Abia state house of assembly to tow the path of justice and allow our members carry out their legislative function unmolested as any attempt to unjustly victimize our members will be met with reasonable resistance from the APC.
