Experts in agricultural practice have poured encomiums on Engr. Hon. Engr. Victor Obuzor, member representing Ahoada-West/Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Federal Constituency at Nigeria’s bicameral lower chamber over his sponsorship of over 100 constituents of his Constituency including indigenes and non-indigenes.
Speaking at a one day Capacity Building/Grant for Women and Youths on Yam and Cassava By-Products Processing and Preservation in Ahoada-West/Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Federal Constituency of Rivers State, resource person and National President of the Catfish and Allied Farmers Association of Nigeria CAFFAN, Dr. Momoh Yusuf Mustapha explained that Hon. Victor Obuzor has added value to his constituency considering how prone the place is to flooding.
He expressed optimism that with the workshop, all beneficiaries can have a second stream of income and become self reliant in food production and sustainability.
Peter Baushe, Assistant Director with the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria said the agency was at the event on a monitoring stream of how constituency projects funds are utilized. He expressed deep satisfaction at the way Hon. Obuzor has properly utilized his constituency projects funds for the good of his constituents and suggested that Presidents of nations should man the agricultural ministry rather than the Petroleum ministry stating that once agriculture is well taken care of, criminal activities will be drastically curtailed as food will be availed for all citizens.
Mr. Baushe further explained that non prioritization and inadequate financial availability are major factors hampering agricultural research thereby making food availability and sustainability almost impossible.
On their parts, Bestman Iloma, Chukwuma Charles, Uzo Vivian, Theresa Ezi, Happy Edeh and Ini Promise speaking on behalf of the participants and beneficiaries expressed utmost appreciation to the political philanthropist describing him as a Godsent leader while praying for his continuous growth and expansion.
Speaking through his Special Assistant on Media, ThankGod Dimkpa, Hon. Victor Obuzor explained that his inspiration is drawn from the his orientation in wealth creation and birthing entrepreneurs through agriculture in his constituency. On the perennial flooding problem of the constituency, He said awareness is already being created as well as temporal sites to accommodate constituents and alleviate the consequences that may emanate from the impending floods.
The workshop climaxed with the presentation of certificates, starter packs and financial stipends of N50,000.00 to each beneficiary.
