A 3-DAY RETREAT FOR KEBBI EXCO MEMBERS BEGINS IN ABUJA

A three day retreat has opened today in Abuja for members of the Kebbi state Executive Council.
The retreat is intended to acquaint them with the roles and responsibilities of Commissioners in the progress and development of the state as well as their relationship with other arms of government, Permanent Secretaries, Directors and other staff in their respective Ministries.
The retreat which just began at the Royal Continental Hotel in Abuja is also aimed at preparing the Commissioners in the task of governance in line with the policy objectives and the desire of Governor Nasir Idris to reposition the state.
It is also expected to prepare the Commissioners on the workings of democratic government in relation to the need for the state to quicken the process of its growth in the next four years.
The Kebbi state Governor Dr Comrade Nasir Idris was represented by the deputy governor Senator Umar Abubakar Argungu. He stated in his speech that there was the need for the members to learn to work together in order to achieve the common objectives of developing the state.
He appealed to the members of the executive council, to be attentive and be resource to work in harmony and be cohesive in the discharge of their responsibilities.
In his welcome address, the Secretary to the state Government Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida stated that the event was arranged to put members through the art of governance so that they can synergise and work for the betterment of the state.
At the end of the retreat which ends on Saturday, the 16th of September, 2023, the Commissioners are expected to be knowledgeable and versatile in their operational guidelines as members of the State Executive Council.
The resource persons are Professor Sanusi Ahmad Birnin Kebbi, the lead consultant backed by Professors ML Ahmadu who is the pioneer Vice Chancellor of Rayhaan University Birnin Kebbi and Yahaya T Baba.
