The president of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki, on Friday, April 12, released the full details of the 2018 budget of the legislative arm of government at the centre in reaction to BudgIT’s calls for openness.
The budget of 2018 as released by Saraki showed that the National Assembly got N139,500,000,000 for the year under review out of which N35,582,085,699 went to the Senate and N57,425,137,793 went to the House of Representatives.
The details of the budget further showed that the National Assembly commission got N2,736,081,266 in the 2018 budget while N10,202,095,928 went to legislative aides.
Also, the National Assembly Legislative Institute had N4,373,813,596 earmarked for it while N1,145,143,254 went for service-wide vote of the Legislature.
Also, the National Assembly office got N15,389,235,912.
