NEED FOR URGENT INTERVENTION AND SECURITY FOR THE PEOPLE OF BORNO STATE

At the plenary on Thursday, members of the house of representative moved motion for the urgent need to intervene and provide security personnel to the humanitarian aid workers and internally displaced persons (IDPS) across Bama, Ngala, Kala-Balge federal constituency of borno state.
The house noted that boko haram terrorist stormed rann headquarter of kola-balge local government area of borno state on Thursday 1st March 2018 and killed five aid workers working for the international organization for migration and united nation fund (UNICEF) and also adopted three aid workers one from ICRC clinic team and two from UNICEF.
The lawmakers expressed that boko haram terrorist over shadow the Nigeria security and had killed 8 officers of the Nigeria army, police and other security personnel while some of the officers are still missing. They noted that over 80, 000 internally displaced persons (IDPS) primarily depend on Emergency food and medical cares among which 55,000 people who are displaced and housed in the camp.
The lawmakers said that it is concerned that the the internationally displaced persons will remain hopeless while the international communities will have wrong impression about nigeria security challenges.
Hon Nuhu(mover of the motion) said that Nigeria need a long term security to secure the borders of the state against intruders.
Speaking on the motion Hon Barshi Babade said that sentiment should be kept aside as the lives of humans are at stake. He expressed that Nigeria has low number of security to handle the problem of insecurity as election is fast approaching.
He urge the speaker of the house Yakubu Dogara to meet with the president and find a lasting solution to the problem of Insecurity.
Hon Yakubu Bade said that one of the key point this administration(APC) used against it opponent (PDP) at the last election was insecurity which was caused by boko haram. Yet it is unable to solve the problem of which it promised to do during it campaign.
Hon Chris Azubogu on his debate said that one the causes of problem of not being able to identify the perpetrators of all the killings is because we do not have a data base where the information of every Nigeria is captured for easy identification. He encouraged that Nigeria need to have the data of all it citizens so that it would be easy to detect a terrorist.
It is at this note that the house urge the federal government to provide enough security personnel to the united children’s fund, UNICEF, MSF, sans frontiers and every local and international non governmental organization together with the internal displaced persons(IDPS) camps across the affected area.
