FIRS boss, others, senate to consider the confirmation – Buhari.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday have written to the Senate seeking for the confirmation of Mr. Muhammad Mamman Nami for the appointment of new Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS)

This was contained in a letter addressed to the Senate President and was read out at the floor of the senate during plenary.
The letter reads…

Dear Distinguished Senate President,

Request for confirmation of appointment

ln accordance with section (10) subsection 1 of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) act 2010, i hereby present Mr. Edward Lametek Adamu for confirmation as Chairman of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) By distinguished senate.

While hoping that this request will receive the usual expeditious consideration of the senate,please accept distinguished senate president the assurances of my highest consideration.

Other members of the board of the FIRS contained in the letter are:

James Yakwen Ayuba member (North Central)

Ado Danjuma member (North West)

Adam Baba Mohammed member (North East)

A. Ikeme Osakwe member (South East)

Adewale Ogunyomade member (South West)

Ehile Adetola Aigbangbee member (South South).

The representatives of the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) also named by the President are: Ladidi Bara’atu Mohammed (Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation), Godwin l. Emefiele (Central Bank of Nigeria), Fatima Z. Hayatu (Ministry of Finance), Maagbe S. Ada (Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission), Umar Ajiya (Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation), Deputy Comptroller General T.M. Isah (Nigeria Custom Services) and the Registrar General of the Corporate Affairs Commission.

Similarly, in accordance with section (10) subsection 1 of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), President Buhari requested the Senate to confirm the appointment of Mr. Edward Lametek Adamu, as the Chairman of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

The Senate through their president therefore mandated the senate committee on Finance to look into the letter and report back to the senate within the week.
