REPS CALLS FOR NEED TO ARREST THE WANTON KILLINGS IN BOKKOS LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF PLATEAU STATE

The lawmakers have urge the Federal Government to deploy relevant security agencies to the community of bokkos and have also mandated the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to provide relief materials for the people of bokkos.
At the plenary on Tuesday, members of the house of representative call for the urgent need to arrest the wanton killings and attacks in bokkos local government area of plateau state.
According the lawmakers, the people of bokkos have suffered greatly in the hands of herdsmen in the community which led to the death of the of Da saf Lazarus Agi the Paramount leader of bokkos community.
The House noted that similar incident took place in January 2018 where four persons where brutally killed by herdsmen and many others injured living properties worth millions of naria destroyed and left hundreds of people displaced.
Even after the President visit to bokkos in plateau state, another attack was unleashed on the community of Daffo district on the 7th and 8th of March 2018 that led to the destruction of five villages like Josho, Ngha kudung, Ganda, Hontom woreng and Mbok destroyed, with fifty lives lost and several others Injured and over 10, 000 persons displaced.
The house said that in all of these attacks and killings done by the herdsmen there have been little or no effort to bring the perpetrators to book or any arrest been made.
Speaking on the motion, Hon Solomon Bulus maren said that this is the second attack on the community of bokkos in less than a year.
He added that there have been no intervention by the national emergency management agency (NEMA) to the displaced community and also no arrest have been made on the suspects .
