At the plenary on Thursday the house moves motion for the need to ensure sanity in the administration of justice system in the fight against corruption in Nigeria by the Attorney General of the Federation. The house made it known that the recent events where the Chairman of the code of conduct tribunal, Mr Danladi Umar was charged with two count charges of corruption before the FCT high court by the EFCC of which the same EFCC and Attorney General had previously cleared Mr Danladi Umar of thesame allegation that form the basis of the two count. The House said it is concerned that the EFCC and the Attorney General is prosecuting cases before the Same CCT which Daladi Umar sits as Chairman. The house express worries that any possible convictions or findings which the CCT may make for Mr Danladi Umar being charged may be render null and void by the court of appeal and thereby frustrating the course of justice. The house resolves to condemn the manipulation of legal system by the Attorney General of the Federation and the Acting Chairman of the EFCC and also mandated the House Committee on Judiciary to interact with the Attorney General of the Federation to ensure that sanity is brought back to the case at hand.
